Fair Use Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
Callkeep’s $19.99 CAD/month plan is unlimited for normal small-business calling. There’s no per-minute charge, no per-user fee, and no artificial cap. This page exists so “unlimited” stays honest — it’s designed for an owner-operator or small team running a real business, not for the edge cases below.
What counts as fair use
Normal use means receiving and returning calls from your own customers, vendors, and partners — the kind of phone activity a service business does every day. As a soft reference, virtually every Callkeep account stays well under 2,000 inbound and outbound minutes per month. If you’re a tradesperson, salon, clinic, contractor, consultant, or anything in that range — you will never come close to a limit.
What is not fair use
The unlimited plan is not designed for, and we may pause or disable accounts that use Callkeep for:
- Auto-dialers, predictive dialers, or robocalls — including any automated outbound calling pattern.
- Telemarketing or cold-call campaigns — including calls to numbers you have no prior business relationship with.
- Call centers or BPO operations — Callkeep is a single-business phone line, not a multi-seat call-center platform.
- Resale of the service — using one Callkeep account as the inbound for multiple unrelated businesses.
- Continuous high-volume traffic — sustained use that materially exceeds the soft reference above and looks unlike normal small-business activity.
- Illegal or fraudulent use— including any use prohibited by the CRTC’s Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules, anti-spam law (CASL), or applicable Canadian or provincial law.
What happens if you go over
We don’t rate-limit, throttle, or auto-disconnect calls in the middle of a conversation. If your usage looks like one of the patterns above, we’ll:
- Reach out by email first to confirm what’s going on.
- Give you a chance to bring usage back to normal small-business patterns.
- Suspend or close the account only if the pattern continues, or if the activity is illegal.
We’d rather have a conversation than send a surprise bill or kill a live call.
Other carrier fees
Calls to premium-rate numbers (e.g., 1-900) and international destinations are not included in the unlimited plan — those pass through at carrier cost. International long-distance is not enabled on standard accounts; contact us if you need it.
